How very French!

This week had one of 3 of our National holidays in May, and so I took the opportunity to go to 5 brocantes! I went nice and early, vide grenier buddy in tow, and my purchase of the day had to be these vintage zinc finials. They match perfectly the ones on our roof, and are now fixed in their new home adding a fantastic finishing touch to our stone walls.
Later that day, a French friend came round to collect some acacia flowers to make beignets (doughnuts) and kindly parked her car behind one of the finials to make the perfect French photo!

Cette semaine était l'un des trois de nos fêtes nationales en mai, et je profite de l'occasion pour aller à 5 brocantes! Je suis allé agréable et tôt, vide grenier copain en remorque et mon achat de la journée devait être ces fleurons de zinc vintage. Ils correspondent parfaitement ceux sur notre toit, et sont maintenant fixés dans leur nouvelle maison en ajoutant une finition fantastique touche à nos murs en pierre.

Plus tard ce jour-là, un ami français est venu chez nous pour recueillir des fleurs d'acacia pour faire des beignets (doughnuts) et gentiment garé sa voiture derrière l'un des fleurons de faire la photo parfaite français!
